The Arizona Celebration of Freedom: Building Community in the East Valley

The Arizona Celebration of Freedom: Uniting The East Valley Community

Mesa's Fourth of July — fireworks, live music, and a few brand-new Americans.

Every Fourth of July, Downtown Mesa turns into one big block party. The Arizona Celebration of Freedom brings live entertainment, food vendors, a wet zone to beat the July heat, and a fireworks finale that lights up the valley. It runs 6 to 10 PM and it's built for everyone — families, kids, first-timers, and folks who've been coming for years.

But the best moment of the night isn't the fireworks. It's the naturalization ceremony, where new citizens raise their right hand and become Americans in front of a cheering crowd. That's the part that reminds you what the day is actually about.

Sertoma's Role:

Sertoma helped bring this celebration to life years ago — and we've never left. You'll find our volunteers working behind the scenes, lending a hand with the naturalization ceremony, and staffing our booth, where we hand out pocket Constitutions and help anyone who's curious understand the document that started it all. "Freedom" isn't a theme for us. It's part of why Sertoma exists: service to our community, and to the country that makes it possible.
